This jumpsuit is my best Topshop buy ever. I am literally living in it. I just love the idea that when I wear it I don’t put too much thought. It’s the perfect piece for the lazy dressers. Once I put it all I need to think about is what jacket and shoes will match with it. Needless to say that’s my piece of choice when running late in the morning.
If I were to tell my parents I was going to work wearing this, they would probably choke. Denim is the most repelling thing for them, let alone a jumpsuit! Wearing it, I am always thinking of not matching it with Converse and a bomber jacket because I can already hear my parents say I look like an Air Force pilot – which I wouldn’t mind though. Each time I am wearing this jumpsuit, I always have my parents in mind, because they don’t know but they are my main source of style inspiration! Actually not only with this jumpsuit but with all my sartorial choices. I literally dress thinking how I can make them appreciate a piece they’d consider ugly.
This jumpsuit is the ugly culprit of today’s look. I thought I could trick my parents’ eyes giving them the impression it’s just straight jeans – still not their sartorial cup of tea but better than a denim jumpsuit. The coat and boots make the look more casual chic while the blanket scarf is there because I like to wrap myself like a burrito in winter. The blazer is part of a co-ord I’ll probably style one day here and that I love for its print. It makes me feel a little bit Italian. If you didn’t know, cool Italian people master the art of wearing prints, an art I aspire to graduate from. And last but not least, I love a good mis-match hence the green beanie.
Does your parents critic the way you dress? How do you cope with it?
