I didn’t plan creating outfit posts for The Curious Portafoglio. There are already enough personal style bloggers so why add to the noise? That was exactly my thought until I realized I tend to follow some because they are more than their outfits. Style is one of these things enabling you to see someone’s personality and since I want you to know me, I thought showing you how I dress and the process going with it was the best.
French blogger Aria di Bari was definitely a huge inspiration for the format of my outfit posts. Unlike other bloggers, she doesn’t post ten to fifteen pictures of herself as she only focuses on the essential. She usually posts up to six images with two full-ons and the rest consists of close-ups of her outfits. The copy accompanying her posts may be succint but it’s always interesting to read as you get to know WHY she goes for pairing all her items. I don’t intend to copy her at all but find her really aspirational for improving my photography by focussing on the essential and being succint with my writing (which is definitely not my forte).
Now coming to the core of that post, let’s talk about my outfit. I know denim on denim is a past story but I don’t digest trends quickly. Ironic for someone working in fashion. Nowadays, everything is going at such a fast pace that I find difficult individuating one trend, finding one I actually like and incorporate it to my style. This said, though my style has evolved, I can’t seem to abandon wearing flares. I usually don’t wear denim shirts, let alone biker jackets, so this outfit is actually something new for me.
Are you also late taking on trends?
